I’m planning to spend 100 days creating new things and documenting the process. I’ve already started to be more in a routine of creating things but this will help me cement the action. I’m a big fan of structure so I enjoy the framework of the 100 day window.

#The100DayProject is a free annual art project that takes place online.  This 100 day project starts February 23, 2025.

It was started by Michael Beirut, graphic designer,  and continued by a group of inspired people who took it online. Read Michael’s reflections about the project and their interview with himElle Luna and friends brought it to Instagram in 2013ish and Lindsay Jean Thomson started co-leading with Elle in 2017. Read Ella Luna’s interview

I’m still deciding on the projects I want to pursue during this time, and Lindsay says, “you define your own creative container…we’re not in the business of telling others what to create.”

One piece of advice is to figure out the scale of your project before you begin so:

  1. You have all the materials you need
  2. It’s something achievable
  3. You don’t get burned out

You can do anything you want each day. Work on a small piece, a poem, a short story, painting, a drawing, or just doodle. It can be in-process pieces, rough drafts, or you can start from scratch. The important thing is that you create.
